Contribute to the ongoing disaster recovery efforts from Hurricane Harvey in Houston, Texas. Over 80% of the million residents in the 39 evacuated counties are without insurance. We are funding 15-20 homes annually with a commitment to tackling poverty in Houston’s hurricane damaged communities.
**There are 3 homes being re-built in 2021. This will donation will completely fund 1 of those homes**
Problem
Funding along with 155 Islamic Relief volunteers have assisted with home rebuild contributing a total of 5,408 hours of labor to serve 14 beneficiaries as of September 2020.
Islamic Relief USA has been engaged in disaster response and preparedness for a number of years. This operation in Houston represents the first Disaster Response Teams’ commitment to long term disaster recovery.
Our rebuilding efforts are allowing needy families to maintain ownership of their generational property and are aiding them in their recovery to safe, sustainable housing.
